When I go to either My computer or Explorer & click on my DVD burner It
doesn't open it because it can't find it. I can't use it to play music
or display a file with it. If I then click on Nero, it finds my drive &
allows me to copy files & burn them. GSpot codec utility also sees my
burner. Where do I start looking to find out why windows can't see my
drive?

Thanks in advance

Do you have TweakUI installed?
If so open it up and expand the "my computer" listing, click on drives and
put a checkmark next to the letter of the drive.

There is already a check mark against all hard drives.
