Windows bugs

Had a big problem. Started off my microsoft word was struggling to open and
only opened in safe mode but that has cleared but now when i click on excel,
windows explorer starts to load!! Haven't got the CD as I am at university
and the CD is at my parents but desperately need it for my courework. HELP!!!
