I have completed a clean install with windows xp. I
formated the disk according to the instructions. I
thought the disk was all cleaned off. It did a format
and removed the partitions. However, I still get asked
to select which version of win xp I want to start with.
I think I only have the one. How can I get this to quit
appearing at the startup.

Go to Start > Run and type in: MSCONFIG , and hit enter,
Click the BOOT.INI tab.
Next, click "Check All Boot Paths".
This procedure should correct your BOOT.INI file.
