Windows 2003 System restoe Failure Help!!!

Hi

We have Windows 2003 Server with Active Director Installed

Actually We upgraded Windows 2000 to Windows 2003

We need to Activate Windows 2003 and we activated and till now the system
was running fine

I had my Backup of System State. Last week my system Crashed

I needed to restore my Windows 2003 to new machine

I installed Windows 2003 in new machine and then agian I was asked to
activate I activated

Now I retored the system state. I was successfully restored and when I
restarted the system I was not able to lgin to my system

I was asking again to activate my Windows 2003

I am unable to login

Why it is asking so after restoring my system state

Do I need to have the exact similar hardware of the crashed machine

Kindly help me in this regard

There are special steps to follow when restoring to different hardware. Have
a read of this kb.
