Windows 2000 visibility

I have 2 problems:
1st - I have a Win2k server just added and all the
machines on my local network can view it with no problem.
I have another machine that uses a token-ring network to
get to my domain and login. He can login just fine and
see the server he logs into, but cannot see the Win2k
server (his machine is WinNT 4.0 sp6a). What am I missing?
All of our machines are WinNT 4.0 also.

2nd - I also have a Win2k pro machine that will login to
the same network and see all drives available on the
network on both servers (WinNT and Win2k). If you keep
using the drives it is fine, after a few minutes of no
activity, it cannot see the drives on the servers
anymore. Also all the other machines on the network
cannot see this Win2k machine (I've shared the drive,
changed permissins to everyone etc.).

Are the two problems related?

1st: What protocol are you using with Tolken Ring
2nd: Have you checked the cables to make sure they are not faulty
Do you have a firewall inbetween the server and clients?
