Token-Ring

I have to move my dept. to another plant. The problem is
that my internet access (cable) will not be available
there, so I have to use the network that is in that plant
to access the internet. All of my machines are ethernet
and the plant that I am moving to is Token-ring. I am
being told that in order to use the internet, I have to
install token ring cards in all my machines to see the
network and the internet. My network is a domain, WinNT
base, 12 machines (WinNT4.0), 2 routers, 1 switch, 1
WinNT4.0 server and 1 Win2k server. I really don't think
its necessary to install the cards, what do you think.

If you are going to use the existing Token Ring wiring to
connect your network, then yes you will need to install
token ring cards in the PCs, servers, and other network
devices. If you plan on running ethernet cables in your
new office, then you won't have to change anything.

I already have a ethernet network setup, I just need to
connect to this other network for internet access.

The best way is to install a hardware bridge between TokenRing and Ethernet
segments. Temporarily you can install an additional TokenRing adapter into
one of the servers and thus get a router.
