Windows 2000 Professional - Networkng Error Message

Tom

Using Windows 2000 Professional with Linksys Cable Modem
and Linksys Router connected to a Linksys NIC v5;
everything is working O.K. as far as accessing the
Internet and Email; however, I'm getting an error message
as viewed using the Administrative Tools Event Viewer:
Error Event ID: 1002 "The IP address lease 192.168.1.100
for the Network Card with network address XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-
XX (MAC address not shown here - only X's) has been denied
by the DHCP server 192.168.1.1 (The DHCP Server sent a
DHCPNACK message)" This error message gets logged
everytime the computer and modem/router is powered off and
back on; however, the message does not occur when only the
computer is powered off and back on. Has me stumped -
would appreciate any thoughts.

Are you obtaining an IP from the DHCP-server automatically?
Check the router-DHCP-settings.

Yes; and I attempted to contact you by direct email with
additional details; however, the email was returned as
undeliverable! I have three short text files of the
ipconfig results at power-on, release and renew; which may
shed some light on the issue. My email address is valid.

Thanks,

Tom.

Hey Mark:

I attempted to contact you by direct email; however the
email was returned as undeliverable! I have three short
text files of ipconfig results at power-on, release and
renew; which would let you know what's going on; however,
I was unable to get them to you by your direct email shown
in the posting. My direct email is valid.

Thanks,

Tom
