Win98 + win2000: cannot start Win98

I have Win98SE on D: and Win2000 on E:.
The system was working perfectly since over 6 months.
Yesterday I wanted to enter in Win98 but I couldn't as "there is no
start disk".
So I started with the Win98 Start floppy and run SYS C:
Now I could run Win98 but the dual boot option had disappeared and
couldn't run Win2000.
I restored C: again but I'm in the original situation again where I
cannot start Win98.
Anyone can give me some suggestion on how to get both OS running again?

You were on the right track but you missed some steps.
Do this:
1. Re-issue the sys c: command, to restore your Win98
boot facility.
2. Run this command:
bootpart winnt boot:C:
3. Run this command:
bootpart win95 c:\win98.sys "Windows 98"
4. Unhide & modify c:\boot.ini to ensure that you have
only the above reference to Windows 98.

You can download bootpart.exe from

Thanks, it worked (even if the long help text of bootpart quite scared
me at the beginning!)
