I have a laptop with win2000 and a partitioned hard drive (C & D). Is it
possible to install win98 and have a dual boot system?
(I have a Canon CD3000 dye sub printer which will only run on win98 and
win Me)

Here is how you can do it:
- Install Win98 into c:\Windows (I assume that Win2000
resides in c:\WinNT).
- Do a clean boot (press F8 at boot time).
- Get a copy of bootpart.exe from
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/gvollant/bootpart.htm
- Run this command:
bootpart win95 c:\win98.sys "Windows 98"
This will create a Win98 boot sector file. It will also add a Win98
boot line into your boot selector c:\boot.ini.
- Run this command:
bootpart WinNT boot:c:
This will restore your Win2000 boot capability.

Sorry, guess I should have mentioned that....My hard drive is FAT32

Sorry to bug you, but I tried your instructions and was
unable to load Win98. Can't seem to start my computer in
ms-dos.
When I boot the computer and push F8 I get choices to boot
in "safe mode", no ms-dos?
I now have "bootpart" as you suggested but i'm stuck! my
soon to be flying laptop won't let me install Win 98!! >
Any suggestions?
Wayde
