win98 had TS black screen problem ?

Hi,

Got a black screen from windows 98 se running terminal server client
connecting to 2000 server over PPTP.

Is this something to do with MTU ? any idea how to sort ?

(user maintains nothing new installed on machine, I have seen this problem
after installing a Cisco vpn clinet before).

note: i tested using 2k pro clinet over pptp and did not have a problem, ok
iternally also.

ping -t -l 1500 192.168.1.100

when pinging using 1500 i got error
when pinging using 1450 i didnt

i assume i need to change the mtu to 1450.

when running the ping test (i.e ping -t -l 1470) from external to vpn
server it worked at MTU of 1470 yet when the windows 98 users connected they
still got a black screen.

i thought that if the ping test worked then the mtu would apply to all
machines ?

ran test from 98 machine with problem and they could only ping at 500.

when changing MTU to 500 it terminal server clinet worked.
