after a re-format and re-load of win2000 - when my
computer comes out of hibernate it asks to go into
standby??? Also after I load a program it always asks for
the win2000 as it says that files req by win to run
properly have been replaced by an unrecognisee version???

Run sfc /purgecache from a command prompt with the Windows 2000 CD in the
drive to fix the WFP issues you are seeing.
