win2000 pro startup error - how to fix?

After win2000 pro is started I get the following error:

\SystemRoot\system32\drivers\atitvtw.sys device driver could not be loaded.
Error status was 0xc000012f ok

This is after I tried to install the ATI-TV Wonder card (which I have
done before successfully to win2000), and it crashed my system.
I had recovered finally by rebooting in safe mode and uninstalling
the ATI-TV wonder drivers. But this error message tells me something
is still residually stuck in my system. My autoexec.bat is blank,
as is my config.sys. I perused the registry but could find no
mention of the ATI system anywhere. I never did get around to
installing any of the TV wonder programs.

Does anyone know why win2000 is trying to load atitvtw.sys? Even after
I tried to uninstall it and remove it from my system? Do I have to
reinstall win2000 pro to get rid of this?

Help.

I am surprised when you installed Windows 2000 with the card installed the drivers were not recognized right off the bat and installed.

Is this a ATI All-In-Wonder card? How old is the card not the drivers?

George,

My card is several years old - the only drivers that came with
it are for win98se. About 3 years ago I downloaded drivers
for win2000, which have worked ok now with win2000 every since.

What I did here now is to completely re-install win xp, and,
it went ok, so, I tried again to install the ATI TV-wonder
card, using the win2000 drivers. What XP did was to put the
two devices (video/audio controllers) under "other" with a
yellow exclamation point, so, I just used the upgrade
driver option and installed the win2000 drivers, which seemed
to go all ok, but, then, after it is all installed and
everything, now the picture is all messed up with diagonal
lines just like when you have the horizontal sync knob all
wrong with a regular tv set. I checked to make sure it was
NTSC (as opposed to PAL), and the only thing I can guess is
that XP somehow is so different from win2000 that it won't
let this old TV wonder card sync right (the sound comes
through ok), the connectors all switch ok, and I can take
a still - all ok, but the video itself is just swishing broad
diagonal lines. I am stumped, so I just decided to give
up on XP and keep on using win2000 (what a waste).
