Ati2mtag event error

Intermittently my win2000 computer locks-up.
Event viewer shows only one error: Ati2mtag. Online searches tell me that
ATI radeon drivers before some version will not produce the error, but I
can't find what version this is or where to find "legacy drivers".

I've been receiving that error as well. Through the research I've done so
far, people receiving that error are not experiencing any system problems as
a result (myself included). So it seems to be more of an annoyance than
anything. You may be an exception, or you may just have other issues with
the drivers, or perhaps even another problem all together. ATI has a driver
removal utility on their site, you may wish to try that and do a clean
driver install.
