ATI driver fix & New MMC...WHEN?

It's been about 7 months since a new updated version of ATI Multimedia
Center "MMC".

MMC 9.08 has tons of bugs. I'm using MMC 9.06.1 which is a really old
software version.

Also, I see, the "ATI AIW 9600 AGP" has many errors with old to new ATI
video drivers.

Drivers loaded : Cat 5.10, Cat 5.11, Cat 5.12. All other past ATI driver
versions have the same error.

Do you have fast-writes enabled ? I seem to remember reading that 9600s were
particularly finicky about this setting. Sometimes the card is more stable
with it enabled whereas with most cards the opposite is true. Check it in
the bios and FWIW the older cards run better with older drivers in general.
If I had that card I would be running it on the 4.12s with MMC 9.03 as I did
with my brothers AIW 9700Pro.

I'm running Cat 5.10 drivers w/CP only, and some of the MMC 9.08 (no
launcher)

I get the same messages in event viewer w/ my 128mb AIW 9800 Pro and I think
it has something to do with when Windoze loads - I don't see any problems
actually happening w/ me though (that I am perhaps blissfully unaware of) -
I use the card for viewing dvd videos on my LCD and/or s-video out to my big
screen, recording video from my video camera as well as my satellite
receiver and, watching tv on my LCD monitor. Not much gaming though - don't
even think it can run much of the new stuff anyway.

I think it may be time to mention my experience with MMC 9.08...

I first loaded it when it came out. AtiSched.exe problems ensued.

I went back to 9.06.1. It mostly worked, with regrets.

I tried over time to "upgrade" to 9.08, but to no avail.

I recently purchased Snapstream Beyond TV v4.0 with the free Firefly
remote (app. $77 USD) with BETTER scheduling and MULTIPLE tuner
capabilities BUILT-IN!

I no longer look forward to ATI's MMC upgrade. I am quite pleased.

It is worth the $$$
