Win XP Security Update will not install

Got the following message today:

The following items failed to install. To try installing
them again, click Review and install updates, and then
click Install Now again.

Security Update for Microsoft Windows XP (KB828035)

Plus, pop up window said the update did not pass
Windows "Logo Test" and would not be installed.

Any advice?

If you are doing this via Windows Update, then
- there is a newsgroup for Windowsupdate issues
- the first thing that newsgroup will direct you to
is the troubleshooter that you can access from the
options on the left when at Windows Update

I am currently having a major problem with gaining access
to the Internet after my computer allowed this program to
be installed on 11/15. I can get onto the main MSN
Website and then go from there to access many sites, but
not if I try directly from my desktop icons. I do not
get any pictures from any sites and only partial pages on
some sites. Also my email program is not allowing mail
to come in or go out. When I checked my "System Event
Viewer" I found a note that "The service database is
locked". I came to this Website to try to get help
fixing the problem. My advice for now is to be thankful
it didn't download and not to download it until you are
sure everything will work correctly!
