win xp pro keeps crashing on start up

wen i try to load win xp it starts to load then crashes with blue screen of
death

it was working fine till i restarted after an windows update now i cant do
anything with it

please can ne 1 help i need to get it working as i work from home

1. What is the Stop Error? Research it here:

2. Can you get into Safe Mode? If so, uninstall the last update. Which
update was it? To get into Safe Mode, repeatedly tap the F8 key as the
computer is starting up. This will get you to the right menu. Navigate
using your Up arrow key; the mouse will not work here.

Did you try booting from the setup disc and repairing

i have tried everything but nothing seems to work

I am having a similar problem, but receiving a lengthy message about windows
not starting successfully with options to start in various modes - safe, last
know good config, normally etc. Tried all; message remains on screen and
windows does not start. Set for Auto updates, but none installed that I can
recall. Tried F8 at start up and safe mode as you suggested - just got the
same message.
Any other suggestions would sure be appreciated!
