Win XP Pro forcing Master Browser Election

My setup is 1 Win2k Server PDC, 1 Win2k BDC, 2 Win2k
Member Servers & clients are WinXP Pro. One of our XP
Pro laptops is forcing a Master Browser election & taking
over as Master Browser. What would cause this & how do I
stop it? The laptop was setup prior to my employment, so
I don't know if something was set or if ther is a
program/service that could have been installed that is
not visible.

XP Pro is a newer operating system than W2K which could give it a leg up in
browser elections. Just disable the computer browser service on the XP
machines through Computer Management/services. This will not affect the
ability of the XP computers to browse the network. --- Steve
