Master Browser recurring election

I have a Windows2003 Server infrastructure. Very flat, 2 DC's in my HQ, 1 DC
offsite across WAN. I only have winxp workstations for clients. I'm getting
the following error on my PDC exactly every hour:

The master browser has recieved a server annoucement from teh computer
XXXXXX that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on
transport NetBT_Tcpip_{FC1EBE91-FD2B-4C. The master browswer is stopping or
an election is being forced.

When the problem started I shutdown the server that caused the conflict. The
next hour a different server initiated the same error. I reboot my PDC, and
now a different workstation or server initiates the error each hour.

Intermittely my clients will fail to attach their drive mappings during
login or have already connected drive mappings disconnect.

I need help understanding the cause and finding a fix.

Hello Bob,

There is a registry key found in...

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\parameters

For the clients, set MaintainServerList to FALSE. You can also disable the
broswer service on the clients aswell, or they will have harmless errors
displayed in the event log.

Hope this Helps.
