Did you run the Upgrade Advisor from the CD before beginning the upgrade
and take care of all the issues it identified?
In general, I would advise uninstalling antivirus software, before the
upgrade. (Actually, I would advise backing up your data (documents,
address book, e-mail, finance software database, etc.) and formatting
the drive with NTFS as part of the install. A clean install seems like
more work, because you have to reinstall so much software, but you also
avoid carrying forward problems and encountering weird, unsolvable
glitches, and you get an NTFS-formatted system drive, which is more
resilient.)
