Win XP Home SP2 will not shut down

My Win XP Home SP2 system will not shut down. I have gone through everything
in the aumha_org_win5_ . . . . file with no success. When I click on Turn
Off, the hourglass appears for one second but nothing else happens. The
computer does not hang Everything runs, everything works, Turn Off just has
no effect at all. The only way to shut down is to pull the plug or hold the
power button in for a long time. This is not a "very long shutdown" problem
-- I have waited for three hours for shutdown to happen, and it doesn't.
Hibernate is working normally.

Try looking in the BIOS,thier usually is a power control section, you then
should
find a selection for the power off button.
