Anyone have trouble upgrading ME to XP??
Do I have to re-format?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, you must do a reboot. I cannot upgrade any computer
from ME to XP or 2000. I've only been able to reformat
and start fresh with a full version, or upgrade by
installing Win98 first.

Sucks, but there uya go.

It is *not* necessary to reformat. If you've been unable to
upgrade, clearly you're doing something wrong. Thousands, if not
millions, of people have done this successfully.

I would certainly do it as an Upgrade in the first instance (provided
the hardware is adequate - especially in having more than the
recommended 128MB RAM). If it were not to work out you could always
still do a clean install, Read Gary Woodruff's article on upgrading to
XP at http://www.aumha.org/win5/a/xpupgrad.htm. Then Run the XP CD from
the system and upgrade.
