Win 98 nad Win XP

I have one machine with Windows 98 and one with Windows
XP. I want to save files on the Win XP machine. When the
PC with Win 98 is restarted, the network works fine -
without problem. When the PC with Win 98 is not in use let
say half hour, opening the folder on the Win XP PC from
Win 98 PC needs three or more minutes, sometimes it does
not opened. What can be a problem ? All "sleeping"
functions on Win 98 PC are switched off. From another
machine with Win 98 I never have this problem.
