I doubt very much that there's anyplace where you can download any MS
product regardless of age -- after all, it's all copyrighted. However, you
should be able to buy a copy for a pittance from a used software store,
shopping newspaper, etc. I recommend also buying a set of DOS disks.

If you or some friend have a MSDN account, AFAIK you can download old
Windows for free.

Well, of course that's copywrited and downloading a "free" copy would be
piracy. However, you might try eBay:

Hmmm. Let's see now. What exactly in what I said was controlling? Was it
the first sentence:

"Well, of course that's copywrited and downloading a "free" copy would
be piracy."

which was a simple statement of fact and was intended to warn the OP
that he/she might be requesting something that could get him/her in trouble?

or perhaps it was the second sentence:

"However, you might try eBay:

which was an excellent suggestion of a way to obtain a legal copy of
Windows 3.11?

Perhaps you can clarify where I was trying to be "controlling". In fact,
perhaps you can explain where ANYTHING in my reply was offensive or
demanding.

You can't. Your friend can. That is not necessarily the same thing.
