win 2000 logon user/password after TweakUI disable

I disabled the automatic logon feature on TeakUi and now 2000 is
getting stuck at the logon window. I never did select a user/password
during install, would just leave clear and go on prior to installing
TeakUi, but this doesn't seem to work now that I have installed
TweakUi and disabled its autologon feature. Any ideas? My crystal
ball is saying I am due for yet another re-install, this is becoming a
monthly exercise...

It is impossible to install Win2000 without specifying a
password for the Administrator account - even if it is
a blank password.

There is no need to use TweakUI under Win2000. If you
do not wish to specify an account name / password at logon
time, say so in Control Panel / Users / Users must enter a
password.

The easy way to get out of your current predicament is to
log on under the alternative administrator account that you
wisely created when first loading Windows 2000, same
as you asked for a set of spare keys when you bought
your car. You could then reset the password to the
primary administrator account.

The hard way is to boot the machine with a boot disk
from here: http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html.
It's scary but it works, and it might convince you to plan ahead
for the next such occasion.
