Win 200 upgrade to XP sound problem

I have just upgraded my sons laptop to XP Pro but have not managed to get any
sound out of it. Any clues? The upgrade went smooth woth no errors, just that
now the PC is silent.

Get the latest version of sound drivers from your Manufactures web site,
also it would not hurt to download any other drivers you need for the laptop
as Windows XP drivers that come with the CD may not be the best choice.

Have you downloaded and installed the WinXP-specific audio drivers,
as provided by your computer's manufacturer?
