Will not boot after uninstalling Norton Internet Security

I've just uninstalled Norton Internet Security from Windows XP pro. Now, the
computer will not boot. It stops at Mup.sys

The boot stalled just after the windows logo screen. I rebooted to see where
the halt occurred. It halted at mup.sys. But, that's too generic to tell
what happened.
