WiFi Problems aster SP2 Install

Keith

I just reformatted my Dell laptop with built-in WiFi so that I could clean
install with SP2.

Everything works great except on my WiFi Access Point I have disabled SSID
broadcast This never used to be a problem before SP", but now when I
reboot, it won't connect to the wireless network unless SSID broadcast is
enabled.

Once connected I can set my Access Point to disabled again and it runs fine
until next reboot.

Any ideas how to get it to reconnect to a WiFi network with SSID broadcast
disabled?

Thanks

You might want to check to see if there's an update for
your WiFi hardware (the adapter, in the computer) as this
is a very common requirement after installing SP2 . . . it
may or may not help your problem.

Good Luck !

I made sure I did that already :-(

I have the same problem with my Linksys until I changed the properties in
the NIC's "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties". I went to the "Alternate
Configuration" tab chose "USER configured" put in the IP, Subnet mask,
Default gateway, Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server. This fixed
my problem. As an after thought I also limited the DHCP services to 1
client range of IPs.
