Why would a user's emails disappear after configuring remote compu

I have a user whose emails on her main computer disappeared after she set up
her outlook profile on another computer at another site. Both computers are
on the same domain and the main computer is set not to use cached exchange
mode. It is not verified whether the remote computer was configured that way.
The user is receiving emails on her main computer but the emails starting
from the previous day back until some point in 2006 have disappeared.

Very likely the other computer in the other site was setup to deliver to
Personal Folders instead of her Mailbox. If this were the case, the
contents of her Inbox would transfer from Mailbox to .PST. You might want
to see if this remote computer has a .PST file attached to the Outlook
profile created for her.
