Why is Quick Launch folder in IE folder?

I have found the folder for Quick Launch in C:\Documents and
Settings\KennethCavanaugh\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer.
Why
not store it in Windows. What will happen if I change the locaton.

Well, OK I'll look for Launch in the IE folder.

Because that's where Windows places it, and where it expects to find it.

Rock: Good answer, BUT...let him change the location and then
expect dozens of postings as to "Why doesn't my Quick Launch"
work normally anymore.

For sure. That's one place, among many, where disk imaging comes in.
