Quick Launch Disappears Everytime PC is Restarted

Hello,
The user received a new laptop. OS is Windows Xp Pro SP2 which is on a Domain.
GPs are being used. Everytime the user restarts PC, the quick launch
disappears from the Task Bar.
Although this sounds as simple as that and could implied a simple solution,
this should just work...any ideas? By knowing the location of the quick
launch in the system (Documents and Settings\USER\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch), does it help in any way?
Thanks in advance

Not sure if this will solve your problems, but is worth a try.

Go to the following web site: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
and firstly try the link at line 30 (left hand side) for Windows XP doesn,t
save user setting.

If that does not work, then try line 99 (left hand side) for Restore the
Task Bar to Default Settings.

These have helped me in the past.

Hi Frank,

With new Installations, the Quick Launch Toolbar is not shown. One
needs to go into Properties by right-click on the Start Button and click
Properties or go into the Control Panel for Task Bar and Start Menu
Properties.

That's where to turn on the Quick Launch Toolbar, by clicking Show Quick
Launch.

The User is failing to click Apply then OK. Then you fail to click Apply
then OK and the User just clicks OK, the Quick Launch Toolbar must be
restarted everytime.

Some IT Departments doesn't want to give Users total Control over their
computer and remove the ability to Apply Settings. This is true, if the
Apply Button is grayed out.
