Quick Launch

Windows XP Home SP2

My Quick Launch setting won't "stick." I turn it on by Right Clicking the
Task Bar, Clicking Properties and then checking the "Show Quick Launch Box."
Then I Click "Apply" and OK out.

The Quick Launch works just fine until I shut down my system. When I start
up again the Quick Launch is not there and I have to go through the same
procedure again.

What do I have to do to make this "stick.?" Thank you.

How to re-create the Show Desktop icon on the Quick Launch toolbar
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/190355

<MS::>
= Click Start , click Run, type notepad, and then click OK.
= In Notepad, type the following text on individual lines:
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
= On the File menu, click Save As, and then save the file to your desktop as
Show Desktop.scf.

Note Notepad might automatically append a .txt extension to the file name.
Remove this extension if present. The file name should be Show Desktop.scf.
</MS::>

Had the same problem...tried everything under the sun. No hair
left on head. No workee. Went to HP, downloaded latest fixes.
Problem solved. If you don't have an HP computer...read what the
others posters have posted.

With some help locally, here's how I solved the problem:
1. RIGHT Click on the Task Bar.
2. Left Click to remove the "Lock the TaskBar."
3. Go to Toolbars and select "Quick Launch."
4. Left Click to turn on the "Lock the TaskBar."
5. When you Restart it will be there.
