Quick Launch Icons and Outlook Signatures Have Disappeared

Hi,

When I logged on this morning all of my Quick Launch icons have
disappeared even though they are in the folder C:\Documents and
Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick
Launch. If I try to enable the bar by right-clicking on the task bar
and going to the toolbars menu I get "Cannot create toolbar" when I
click on Quick Launch. I've tried a couple of DLL fixes such as:
REGSVR32 /i SHELL32.DLL and REGSVR32 /i BROWSEUI.DLL. I've also tried
IE4UINIT.EXE and a couple of reg key fixes but none have worked.

I've noticed that my Outlook 2003 signatures have also disappeared
from within Outlook, though they are all still present in the folder C:
\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft
\Signatures.

I don't remember installing or uninstalling anything recently and have
checked for viruses too. Does anybody have any idea what could be
causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks.

Hi, no my taskbar isn't locked. Other parts of my profile are working
fine such as my Firefox favourites, personal toolbar and macros in
Excel. So maybe it's a DLL issue? Am lost as to what to try next.

Have made some progress with this now. It seems that the following
registry value keeps reverting to the wrong folder: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
\AppData

It should be C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data but
keeps changing to something else. Whenever I change it to the correct
path it reverts when I log back into Windows.
