Assistance PLEASE>
I have a laptop running Win XP Pro and a home pc running Win XP Pro. I am
networking the two together. But when I try to map the laptop to my pc, I am
getting a request for a user name and password. I am logged on as
administrator on my pc at home. It has never been set to have a password and
I do not log on using the Ctrl Alt Del. I have gone into my policy editor to
check if a password was set. None. I have gone in to control panel/users and
tried to see is a password is set. And for the life of me I am stump. I have
spent most of this Saturday morning 4-1/2 try to do the most simplest task
and yet Windows is F***ing with me. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,

Arm

Your problem is that you have no password. You need to have identical user
accounts and passwords on both computers. Then mapped drives get accessed
seamlessly. Do not use the hidden administrator accounts. Set up identical
user names/accounts with admin rights and passwords on both machines, then
run the networking wizard. Then map your drives and it should connect
fine(as long as you have shared the drive correctly).
