Why doesn't the spelling program work?

I have certain documents wherein I cannot check spelling. Everything is
accepted and the speller is apparently disabled. MS Help is giving no help.
Word comes back with "The spelling and grammar check is complete," and I know
the document contains "pitcture" and "buidling" because I just put them there.

If I select and copy short sections from the document into fresh documents,
I can spell check them. If I select and copy the whole document into a new
document, I have no spell checking. If I save to RTF and reopen, same
problem.

The problem with these documents persists when checked with either Mac or
Windows Word.

CTRL+A - Tools > Language > Set Language - check the language for which you
have a dictionary installed, and uncheck the do not check spelling for this
document check box.
