why do my images and text disappear after my animation?

i created an animation, with text, followed by some images. The animation
works great, and plays fine in the custom animation tab. But when I go to
the slide show, the text and images disappear after the animation is complete
(the first animation is "on click", and the following are "after previous").
I already checked to make sure that "hide after animation" is not selected.
I changed it back and forth a few times, and it is now on "don't dim after
animation".

Hi Jason

What version are you using. And what type of animations are they (e.g.
emphasis, entrance)? Where are the elements at the beginning of the slide
(for example, are they off the screen and you used a motion path to get them
on). The more detail you give us, the more likely we are to be able to spot
what is going on
