I frequently manually drag my messsages from the Inbox to a local Inbox
folder. Recently, some of these messages are disappearing after I drag and
drop them. It seems to occur when the number of messages I move is more than
a handful. The messages can be either read or unread. I have been reading
this list and I don't believe it has anything to do with my 'view' of the
local folder. The messages just seem to disappear. I also have only been
seeing recently. Prior to this, it has been working fine for years...

Try the Inbox Repair Tool. If it's not in your start menu programs listing,
search for the scanpst.exe file and run it. Good idea to make a shortcut to it
for future ease-of-use.

G'Day Paul,

You may have dropped them accidentally in the root of the local
folders.

Please try this if you have an "Outlook Today Page" configured:
At the top (root) of your local Folder Tree is a name - probably
"Personal Folders".

Right-Click and choose 'Properties...'
Select the 'Home Page' Tab
Remove the Check from the box -
'Show home page by default for this folder'.
Click 'OK'

You should now be able to click on "Personal Folders" and see
if you dropped them there. If you have then retrieve them. In any
case repeat the procedure to re-instate the 'Outlook Today' page.
