I have loaded widows xp onto my hp desktop computer 2.6 ghz intel processer,
80 gig hard drive. Since I have done this I have to choose what operating
system I want to use everytime I boot up mp computer. Windows xp or Microsoft
windows whistler personal, or wait 30 seconds for windows to load. Is there
something that can be done so it boots directly to windows xp home addition,
without having to choose or wait. Thanks in advance with any help.

Go to Start > Run and type: MSCONFIG , and hit enter.
Click on the BOOT.INI tab and then click on "Check All Boot Paths"
to delete incorrect boot paths.

If the above does not work for you, then:

Right-click MY COMPUTER and select:

Properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery Settings > Edit

CAREFULLY edit your boot.ini file.
Your boot.ini file should then look similar to this:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect

Open properties of "my computer" Click on the advanced tab, then startup and
recovery,click the setting button. From here you can select which is to
startup by default and the amount of time can also be decreased to zero if
you wish.

Note: you might want to check the space available on your hard drive,
XP and Whistler are the same thing it might be installed twice.
Whistler is the code name for XP and many HP installs will show this instead
of XP Home\Pro
