While typing curser jumps somewhere else

While typing in Word or in E-mail, curser jumps suddenly
into a previous line. Is there a way to slow this down or
adjust it? Or, do you think that I am the one that
causes this while tuping?
Thank you, Charlotte

Could be a sticky up arrow key making intermittent contact. Try turning the keyboard over and giving it a few good smacks to dislodge debris, and also repeatedly tapping the up arrow key while the keyboard is upside down.

Do you have a Dell laptop? This was an issue with some early Inspirons.
In any case, try turning down the mouse sensitivity from the Control
Panel applet.
