if i have win xp SP2 do I use the reg download or the 64 bit download?

Hi,

It depends on the processor and operating system you are using - if they
both are 64-bit then download 64-bit version. If the processor is 32-bit or
64-bit , but the operating system is 32-bit version - download 32-bit
version.
