Hi there,
I searched for it...but to no avail!
However, I know that it must be "somewhere, since
my function "Hibernate" is on and working properly.
So thank you very much for any valid tips now...
(And kindly explain "in full details" its location).

Hi Wes!
Thanks for those links which I followed and acted "accordingly
....but I still I couldn't locate this specific file on my own OS...
Hmm, so if you would be kind enough to check it up on your
system and then let me know the exact path for it (me: XP Pro)
....well that would be "real sweet" of you.
Best regards, Philippe.

Howdy Philippe,

Hiberfil.sys is typically located in the root directory, C:\

I do not have hiberfil.sys on my machine. It's created when...

Open Power Options Properties...
Start | Run | Type: powercfg.cpl | OK |
Hibernate tab | Enable hibernation

If the Hibernate tab is unavailable, your computer does not support this
feature.

[[When your computer hibernates, it stores whatever it has in memory on your
hard disk and then shuts down.]]

The hibernation file (hiberfil.sys) is where this is stored. By default,
Hiberfil.sys is typically located in the root directory (C:\). If
hiberfil.sys is deleted, it will be created again on the next
hibernation. If Hibernation is turned off, hiberfil.sys will not be
recreated.

[[The space that the hibernation file requires is directly related to the
amount of RAM that is in the computer. If you add more RAM, the Hiberfil.sys
file must grow to match the total RAM. Adding more RAM also automatically
increases the size of the Pagefile.sys file, which by default
is 1.5 times the amount of RAM. ]]

That's pretty much all I know about it. :)
