When I change the bkground on a slide, I can't see the numbers.

I'm using 2003 version. If I change the background on slides (i.e.
background-omit-white), the numbering goes away on those few slides. Is
there a way I can still use numbers on those slides? Thank you for you help.

Is there any reason that you need to omit the background graphics? Instead,
click View > Master > Slide Master.

Create a new master with the background you want. Close Master View once you
are done. Click Format > Slide Design. Select the slides that you want to
apply the new master. Then hover over the new master icon, click on the
dropdown and select Apply to selected slides.

I use a lot of cartoons and clips on my presentations. Sometimes they clash
with the background and I just want the background white or another color.
Thanks for your advice, I will try you suggestion. However, when I create a
new Master, I don't always see it in the design design until I save the new
Master somewhere and then go to my browse feature, which I can do, but is
there a better way?

"tohlz" IT WORKED!!!! Thank you, thank you. Now I don't have to tell my
boss "sorry, but you won't have numbers on those slides"! Ha ha
