What's going on?

My computer info:

• Operating System: Windows XP
• Anti Virus Software : Avast
• Anti Spyware Software :
• How do you connect to the net : DSL
• Your Computer Specifications -HP pavilion a620n

Suddenly out of the blue nothing is working on my computer. My windows media player, real player, excel, etc. all say "excel.exe" when I open a saved file. I get the same thing with the media player "wmplayer.exe." do i have a virus? Help!

Yup... sounds like a virus or registery corruption

Try booting ito Safe Mode and running Avast, go to their home site for some extra tools.
