What the heck is wrong with AVG updates lately?

I am hearing and reading that a lot more people than me
are having trouble getting communication with AVG and
obtaining updates. What's the problem?
 
No trouble at all. Last download august 14th virus database 307

Lots of people downloading updates due to the recent media
attention the latest worm has caused.
