avg and aol

I just installed AVG freeware on a neighbors computer who is using
Windows XP and AOL 9.0 optimized. We cannot update the data. The modem
dials but we get an error message that say it cannot verify the user
name or password. If we connect using the AOL interface everything
works fine. What am I doing wrong? I assume that the AVG interface is
dialing AOL to obtain the update, so the user name and paqssword should
be the same. I have looked at every option we have on the AVG progarm
and I cannot see what needs to be done. Any one have a suggestion?

I think that's a wrong assumption. I don't know what AVG is dialing. If
it's AOL, is the sign-in screen set with the password stored?
Easy enough, I would think, to sign in to AOL and then get the update.
