Level3.net have to do with Microsoft?
Everytime I connect to the interent there is a connection to one of their IP's. I have a clean install of 2000 Pro and I'm finding this very strange. The only thing I've installed on this system is SP4

Anyone have an answer?

Absolutely nothing. You must have some type of application installed on your
box that is causing the connection. Could be something installed without you
knowing?

That would be a good trick considering I just formatted the drive, installed 2000 w/SP3, did a windows update to get SP4 and all the patches.
Nothing else was installed by me. As soon as I got online the only place I went was windows update site.

This isn't the first time I've seen it.
how would someone be able to find the computer within minutes of being installed?
