Show contents of system folders

Is there a way of making Windows Explorer automatically show the contents of
system folders as WINNT and Program Files, without having to click on the
Show Files link?
Using Windows 2000 Pro SP4 all updates available installed.

One would think that:

Tools -> Options -> View (tab)
Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)"

woul do it, but apparently Billy-Boy thinks the people are too stupid to
really need to see the files readily

.... or maybe he just thinks that if they're not smart enough to go the
extra step and find out how, then maybe it's prudent to give them the
caution. This might help:
