What are Thumbs?

When I copy photos to a CD, this box frequently comes up: "Confirm Stream
Loss - The file 'Thumbs' has extra information attached to it that might be
lost if you continue copying. The contents of the file will not be affected.
Do you want to copy the file anyway?" Thumbs is a Data Base File. What are
'thumbs' and what should I click? Yes or Skip?
