Welcome screen problem ?

On the screen saver tab in display properties I can't choose "On resume,
display welcome screen." I can only choose "On resume, password protect,"
but I do have fast user switching enabled, and I am part of a workgroup not
domain.

Hi tidus1,

Do you have more than one User Account (not counting the Guest account)? If
not, you'll need to create a new Account, as you need to have at least two
active User Accounts in order to have "On resume, display welcome screen" as
the option under Screen Saver tab.

I have recently removed the ASP.net account that the net framework creates.
Maybe that's the reason. I guess the two accounts created by IIS don't count
either.

I could be mistaken, but I do think that the two accounts created by IIS
have only Guest privileges, whereas the ASP.net account is a Limited Account
and is therefore considered an "active" account. If you don't want to
reinstate the ASP.net account, you could create a new account, make it a
Limited Account, and you'd then have the "On resume, display welcome screen"
option.
