Webpages shortcut don't work

I right click on any address from my favourites. Sent to > Desktop (create
shortcut) It use to have a blue e with the name of the web site and it
worked, now it is a white square with little colour dot inside. The webpage
shortcut doesn't work ? Avery time I click on it, the: (Open with) window
come up. Choose the program you want to use to open this file. ‘I use
Internet Explorer’. I check the box Always use the selected program to open
this kind of file. “It work thanâ€. But Still the Open With com up next time I
click on the icon. I right click on the icon ( Property> Web Document> Change
Icon I us the e >Ok
I now have a blue e icon with the name of the web site. But it doesn't make
any deference. Still the same story.

Not: My regular, Internet Explorer icon and all other shortcut work fine.

Hi,
It sounds like you may be creating a shortcut to a shortcut. A Favorite is
an Internet shortcut.

Try this...
Visit the webpage. Make the IE window smaller that full size. Grab the IE
icon at the left side of the Address Bar and drag it to the desktop. Rename
the shortcut if desired.
