IE Shortcut Overwrites Open Web Pages

When I have an open Internet Explorer Web page and then
invoke a new web page from an Internet Explorer desktop
shortcut icon, the first open web page disappears and then
is replaced by the web page from the shortcut. How can I
display multiple one web pages and still use desktop
shotcuts?

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".
